Facilitating an Online Course (online seminar for faculty) In-Person

The summer session of Facilitating an Online Course will run June 10th through July 28th. The course runs for a seven-week period. During weeks 1, 3, 5, and 7, the participant will be engaged, working on assignments, discussions, etc. The average time commitment for the participant is 6 – 8 hours per week. During weeks 2, 4, and 6, the participant is not required to participate, rather those weeks are an “intermission” week designed to help balance workloads.

This online course is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to explore best practices and theories related to facilitating an online course. Specifically, the course will model Marquette’s Distance Education Standards of Excellence, while providing the participant with the opportunity to gain the perspective of a student.
