How Learning Works: The Seven Research Based Principles for Smart Teaching In-Person
This faculty-led reading group is an opportunity to come together once a week to spend an hour discussing the best-selling book by Susan Ambrose, et al, How Learning Works (2010). The book is concrete and practical for any discipline or level of experience. By outlining seven research-derived principles of cognition, the authors provide concrete suggestions on how to incorporate these principles into the classroom and the curriculum. The Office of Educational Development will provide books for all participants, a note of completion will be offered to those who attend 6 of the 8 sessions.
