Whistling Vivaldi Faculty Book Study In-Person

The Center for Teaching and Learning will host a 5-part conversation for faculty (full and part-time) to discuss “Whistling Vivaldi” by Claude Steele*. This important book discusses the role of stereotypes and stereotype threat in the classroom and its impact on student learning and sense of belonging.

Copies of the book will be provided by the CTL in exchange for full participation in the group.

Sessions: Fridays, noon-1:15 p.m. with lunch served.

Dates are 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/22, 4/5*

*Dr. Claude Steele will be Skyped in for a Q&A for the final session and will be open to the campus community.

N.B. First session is in Raynor 330B and all other sessions are in the Raynor Library Beaumier Suites. CTL faculty reading communities are capped to allow for conversation.
