Writing Wednesday: The Meaningful Writing Project at Marquette In-Person

This month's Writing Wednesday features Rebecca Nowacek and her undergraduate research team talking about their work on the Meaningful Writing Project at Marquette.

What are the most meaningful writing projects that students complete during their time at Marquette? To find out, researchers from the Ott Memorial Writing Center surveyed graduating seniors in Spring 2018.  During this workshop, members of the research team (including Ott Director Rebecca Nowacek and some of the undergraduate WRITE Fellows) will share the findings of their research, which included interviews with students and professors as well as survey results.  Workshop participants can expect to learn more about the qualitites that are characterstic of “meaningful writing” at Marquette, look at examples of assignments named as particularly meaningful, and spend time generating their own meaningful writing assignments.

Join Ott Memorial Writing Center staffers on the third Wednesday of each month for real talk about making the most of writing assignments in your classes. Meetings will take place January 16th, February 20th, March 20th, and April 17that 4pm in Raynor 330B.
