Between Metaliteracy and the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm: A CTL conversation about generative AI In-Person
Coming from the field of information studies, Metaliteracy is a framework for teaching students to actively reflect on how they process different information and sources based on their own feelings or beliefs, in order to ask better questions about what information and sources they are encountering, actively seek additional information and context, and be ethical, creative producers of information. This session will place Metaliteracy in dialogue with the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm to consider how cultivating attention to students’ own feelings and beliefs may help them navigate our new reality of generative AI tools and content. Participants should leave this session prepared to incorporate key learning objectives from Metaliteracy into their courses, assignments, and pedagogies.
