The value of a Jesuit education in this moment: a CTL conversation about generative AI

The value of a Jesuit education in this moment: a CTL conversation about generative AI In-Person

Teachers are encouraged to communicate early and often with their students about generative AI policies and about how generative AI may impact their students’ educations and vocations. These moments are also opportunities to communicate with our students about the value of a Jesuit education for personal formation and social justice. Clear communication regarding generative AI and Jesuit educational values, especially when reinforced with purposeful curriculum and assignment design choices, can be a powerful tool for encouraging reflection on the role of generative AI in the classroom and beyond.

How can we speak with our students about the value of a Jesuit education in the age of generative AI? How can thinking about the usefulness of generative AI help us think about the value of a Jesuit education? How can we teach our students to think deeply not only about the usefulness of technology but also about the meaning of their own personal formation and learning experiences?

Please join us for a short presentation by Teaching Assistant Professor and CTL Faculty Teaching Fellow Dr. Abram Capone followed by a conversation together facilitated by Digital Scholarship Librarian Maxwell Gray.
