“Old practices for new technologies”: a CTL conversation about generative AI

“Old practices for new technologies”: a CTL conversation about generative AI In-Person

Conversations about generative AI and higher education often assume participants are either for or against specific technologies or practices, mirroring the thumbs up and thumbs down of social media, or the AI boosterism and AI doomerism of mass media. Often left out of the conversation is how generative AI may motivate educators to refocus their pedagogical approaches on personal trans/formation and intellectual inquiry. Higher ed classrooms and assessments can be altered and/or transformed in light of this refocusing to promote the learning instructors desire for their students, not necessarily to be “against” anything.

Please join us for a short presentation by Academic Integrity Director Dr. Jacob Riyeff (English) followed by a conversation together facilitated by Maxwell Gray (Raynor Library).
