Demystifying the US News Rankings for Faculty In-Person
The rankings from US News and World Report receive a lot of buzz across all campuses, including Marquette's, and can have direct and indirect consequences on everything from attracting new students to class sizes. It's not always obvious what composes these rankings and how they can be used in a variety of ways, however. Come to this session to learn from Alix and Jackielee, along with the CTL, as they:
- Explain data points that compose the US News rankings
- Show faculty the methodologies used to rank institutions
- Provide an opportunity for discussion about how faculty contribute to Marquette's rankings
- Consider how these rankings affect teaching and learning on campus
- Understand what metrics are used and how they can help faculty in their units
Jointly organized by the CTL and OIRA (Alix Riley and Jackielee Derks)
